Experience Vouchers Mandatory Terms and Conditions

For all experience Vouchers please tick the box to say you accept the terms and conditions as set out below. If unsure please contact us to discuss.

All Vouchers

• Vouchers are valid for a period of 12 months from date of issue
• A cancellation fee of £20 is payable if less than 48hr notice of cancellation is received
• If experience recipient is under 18 they must be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them. The accompanying adult will be able to watch and have access to Tea Room etc.
• Refreshments are provided and you may either bring your own lunch or purchase from the Tea Room
• We can arrange to post the voucher to the recipient directly if instructed during checkout process.
• Once voucher is received you will need to arrange a mutually agreed date for your experience as detailed in the instructions on the voucher.
• Experiences take place on Wednesdays throughout the year, although it may be possible (with prior agreement) to run them on another day usually a "Steaming Sunday" see website for dates.
• Beam Engine driving experiences only take place when we are in steam on a "Steaming Sunday" see website for dates.
• We reserve the right to ask you to choose another date in the event we are unable to run the experience due to unforeseen circumstances
• You should wear ‘working’ clothes or overalls and sturdy shoes. A Hat or Cap can help to keep sawdust/dust etc out of hair
• Long Hair must be tied up and no loose clothing please due to risk of entanglement in moving machinery/
•  Once finished and refreshed, you will be presented with a certificate of completion

Beam Engine Driving Experience

• You must be at least 16 years old
• The experience is available on selected dates between March and October when we are in steam see website for dates or contact us
• The day of the experience needs to be arranged with our Senior Engine Driver after the voucher has been received.  They will arrange a mutually agreed date

Wood Turning Experience

• You need to be at least 10 years old to come on this experience
• The day of the experience needs to be arranged with our Senior Wood Turner after the voucher has been received.  They will arrange a mutually agreed date usually a Wednesday

Blacksmith Experience

• Not suitable for children under 12 years old
• You must be strong enough to wield a large hammer for three or four hours and it has been our experience that teenagers sometimes struggle to finish the course
• PPE (Apron, Gloves, Goggles) will be supplied.
• There are ONLY two hearths and this limits the number of people we can accommodate at one time as we only offer 1-2-1 tuition.
• For the Advanced Experience you must have completed the full day experience or have prior experience.
• The day of the experience needs to be arranged with our Senior Blacksmith after the voucher has been received.  They will arrange for one of our blacksmiths to be available at a mutually agreed date – usually a Wednesday
